The Post I Didn't Write: How We Built an Autonomous AI Marketing Agent on NeoBuild

The experiment

Marketing that runs itself

Planned, written, branded, and published by an AI agent

At 5 PM on a Friday, a LinkedIn post went out from my account. I didn't write it. I didn't schedule it. I was in a code review when my phone buzzed with the notification. That post was planned, written, illustrated, quality-checked, and published by an AI agent we built — on our own platform. This is the story of how our go-to-market went on autopilot, and what it took to trust it.

Quick context if you're new here: NeoBuild is an AI-native app builder that turns plain-language descriptions into production-ready business applications — data models, workflows, dashboards, and AI agents included. The marketing agent in this story is one of those applications. We describe the workflow; NeoBuild generates the software that runs it.

Momentum in the product, silence in the market — that was the pattern we kept repeating, and kept refusing to admit.

The problem we kept not solving

Like most small teams, we had a marketing problem that had nothing to do with ideas and everything to do with consistency. We'd ship features for three weeks straight, look up, and realize we hadn't posted anything, anywhere. The product moved fast; the story stood still.

We considered the usual fixes. An agency? Nobody outside the building could tell our story with real depth. A content hire? Too early. Doing it manually? We tried — building always won the fight for our time. Every founder knows that fight, and knows which side wins.

So we did the thing NeoBuild exists to do: we turned the workflow into software.

What we actually built

We built an AI marketing agent with a real go-to-market pipeline — not a chat window that spits out captions. Five pieces had to work together:

  • A rolling content calendar. The agent plans weeks ahead — at least two posts per week per channel, each slot carrying a theme, an angle, and a format. Product education on Tuesday. Engineering insight on Friday. No more "what should we post today?"
  • Retrieval-grounded writing. Every post is written against our actual product documentation, customer stories, and SEO research through retrieval-augmented generation. The agent says what NeoBuild really does — not what a language model guesses a company like ours might do.
  • A quality gate that can say no. Before anything ships, the draft is checked for invented metrics, customer names that must stay private, off-brand claims, missing keywords, and a mandatory AI disclosure. A draft that fails any check cannot publish automatically — and separately, all publishing can be paused globally with a server-level kill switch.
  • Branded media, verified end to end. The agent generates the visual, applies our brand kit, and confirms the branded image completed before the post is eligible to go live. Autonomous publishing is deliberately restricted to formats we've verified end to end — video and richer media still require a human click.
  • Multi-channel publishing. LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google Business Profile connect through OAuth, and the agent adapts tone and format per channel instead of spraying one caption everywhere.
The agent runs on a scheduler that checks the calendar every minute — but it only acts when a slot is actually due. A quiet week for the calendar is a quiet week for the agent.

Trust is a feature you engineer

The hard part wasn't generation — it was earning the right to let it publish without us. Autonomy arrived in stages, and every stage kept a human hand near the controls:

  • Manual mode first. For weeks, the agent only produced drafts. We read every one. That's how we tuned the voice and learned where it drifted.
  • A master switch. Autonomous publishing sits behind a server-level switch that overrides everything. One lever, everything stops.
  • Transparency by default. Every published post carries a disclosure that an AI agent wrote and scheduled it. We don't hide the automation — it's the proof.

That last point matters more than people expect. An AI disclosure on a marketing post sounds like a liability. For us it's the opposite: the post is a live demo. If our agent can run a real company's go-to-market — on schedule, on brand, grounded in real product truth — that says more about NeoBuild than any feature list could.

The first autonomous post

When the first fully autonomous post went out, nobody on the team touched anything. The calendar slot came due, the agent wrote from our knowledge base, the quality gate passed, the branded image rendered, and the post published — while we stayed heads-down in the work that actually needs humans. Watching it happen felt like the early days of the platform all over again: the strange, excellent feeling of software doing a job you used to dread.

The scoreboard so far, straight from the agent's own performance report: 25 posts drafted, 13 published live across LinkedIn and Facebook, with a 100/100 average score at the quality gate — and a publishing cadence that went from "whenever someone remembered" to at least two posts per week per channel.

What we learned

  • Ground it or don't ship it. Ungrounded generation writes plausible fiction about your own product. Retrieval against real docs is the difference between marketing and noise.
  • Gates beat guidelines. A style guide is a suggestion; a quality gate that blocks publishing is a guarantee. Encode your rules where they can actually say no.
  • Autonomy is earned in stages. Draft mode, then supervised publishing, then autopilot — each stage taught us something the previous one couldn't.
  • Honesty compounds. Disclosing the automation turned a risk into our most credible marketing asset.

We build with what we ship

Here's the part we care about most: we didn't build this with a special internal toolchain. We built it the way our customers build on NeoBuild every day — asset tracking, work orders, invoice approvals, customer onboarding, field-service scheduling, procurement. Describe the workflow, let AI generate the app, keep humans on the decisions that matter. Our marketing agent is NeoBuild, marketing NeoBuild.

If there's a workflow your team keeps dropping because "there's never time" — that's exactly the kind of thing worth turning into software.

Try it yourself

If NeoBuild can run our marketing, imagine what it can automate for your business.

Describe your workflow in one sentence at Neobuild.dev and watch a working application take shape — the same way we built the agent that published this story.
